The
Health Services Careers Partnership (HSCP) was formed
in 2003 to address the health care workforce shortages
in Snohomish County, WA. The Partnership includes health
care professionals, educational representatives, and other
key stakeholders who seek to address health care workforce
demands through:
| 1)
|
Developing
and maintaining private and public partnerships
to respond to the health care industry workforce
needs
|
| 2)
|
Increasing
training capacity in high-demand health occupations
|
| 3)
|
Supporting
recruitment and retention strategies within the
health care industry
|
| 4)
|
Attracting
a diverse audience, including youth, into health
occupations
|
| 5)
|
Developing,
maintaining and communicating health career planning
materials
|
The HSCP is one of 12 health care industry skill panels
in Washington State. Skill panels were initiated by Governor
Locke and the 2000 Legislature to engage business and
industry to devise strategies to close the skill gaps
in Washington State. Skill panels provide forums for discussion
with multiple stakeholders who are vested in a particular
industry. Skill panels create industry-driven teams that
find solutions for short, mid, and long-term challenges
and opportunities for an industry's workforce.
