Snohomish County is home to highly acclaimed and well-funded
medical research institutions that drive the industry's
growth.
Since the 1980s, dozens of biotech start-ups have been
established in the Snohomish County area. Approximately
7,600 people are currently working in the City's biotech
and medical device industries, representing more than
60% of the sector's regional workforce.
Extensive development now in process will add new biotech
companies and research facilities to an area already well
known for its science community. We are committed to making
Snohomish County a flourishing world center for biotech
and the life sciences and are well on our way to realizing
that vision.
