Manufacturing Sector

While the Manufacturing industry only represents approximately eight percent of all firms in Snohomish County with at least five employees, the 489 firms employ nearly 43,000 people. By employing over a fifth of all employees in the County, the Manufacturing cluster is crucial to the local economy.

According to the 2004 Snohomish County Manufacturing Cluster Report, prepared by Godbe Research, manufacturing employment in Snohomish County is relatively stable with almost all positions offering permanent full-time employment with health benefits. However, that stability has created an older workforce with few younger employees and even less future candidates that are considering occupations in the Manufacturing cluster.
