 Health
Services is one of the largest industry sectors in Snohomish
County, providing thousands of local jobs. Three out of
seven occupations projected to grow the fastest in Snohomish
County are concentrated in the health services sector.
This industry sector consists of the following segments:
hospitals, nursing & residential care facilities,
offices of physicians, offices of dentists, home healthcare
services, offices of other health practitioners, outpatient
care centers, other ambulatory healthcare services, and
medical & diagnostic laboratories.
The
Health Services sector provides
some of the highest salaries in the county, with 8 of
the top 10 locally highest paying occupations coming from
this sector. Locally, the health services sector has seen
some of the largest skills gaps and workforce shortages,
where there are more job openings than there are qualified
applicants to fill the jobs. Organizations like the local
sector skills panel, the Health
Services Careers Partnership (HSCP), work to address
such workforce shortages.
