Spotlight: Dale Peinecke

Snohomish County Workforce Development Council Chair

President and CEO, Giddens Industries

Dale Peinecke, WDC ChairDale Peinecke, President of Giddens Industries, was recently elected to Chair the Snohomish County Workforce Development Council (WDC). Dale is replacing Deborah Knutson, President of the Snohomish County Economic Development Council, who served as Interim Chair since early this summer. I sat down with Dale in his office at Giddens Industries to talk about his background and his goals and vision for the Council over his two year term.

These are just a few of the myriad hands-on activities and demonstrations that were available at the What about Tomorrow? Career and College Fair, held on October 25, 2006, at the Everett Events Center. Sponsored jointly by Everett Public Schools and WorkSource Snohomish County, the Career and College Fair provides students with the chance to speak with representatives from colleges, technical schools, trades, and businesses.

AmeriCorps achievements

AmeriCorps Program members and staff traveled to the Eagle Rock Challenge Course inAmeriCorps Members at the Eagle Rock Challenge Course Mt. Vernon for their October 6 Team Day. Goals for the day were to increase leadership abilities, improve group communication skills, accomplish things considered impossible, develop stronger relationships, and have fun. In addition to achieving their goals, members and staff learned about themselves and each other. By working through challenges with the team, members also discovered new ways to interact and work with youth. The team achieved all of its goals, but walked away with something even greater - a deep sense of accomplishment and pride.
