Community Forum
On
September 12, 2006, the Snohomish County Workforce Development
Council hosted a community forum to discuss the future of the
Transition Services Office at WorkSource Everett.
The
Transition Services Office was originally developed by the WDC
in partnership with the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation
and WorkSource Snohomish County and funded through a Department
of Labor Workforce Incentive Grant.

Gail Joubert
AmeriCorps
Program Alumna

Gail
Joubert was recently hired as a Case Manager at the Center for Career
Alternatives (CCA), a WDC partner
and host of the WorkSource Youth Center. After spending two years
as a member of the Snohomish County AmeriCorps Program, sponsored
by the Snohomish County Workforce Development Council (WDC), Gail
was ready for the transition to regular work life. I sat down with
Gail over coffee to discuss her history with the AmeriCorps Program,
her passion for at-risk teens, and her joy at being part of the
solution for our community's kids.

completing two full weeks of pre-service orientation, members
are now hard at work at their host sites, working on projects
that support youth leadership and development and strengthen communities.
